Tras las intensas lluvias que se abatieron en los \u00faltimos d\u00edas en esta parte de la provincia y tambi\u00e9n en el sur de Brasil, hizo que el rio Uruguay comenzara a crecer r\u00e1pidamente, a un promedio de 5 cm por hora. En esta ciudad, este s\u00e1bado por la ma\u00f1ana la altura superaba los diez metros de altura. A raiz de ello, desde la comuna, se convoc\u00f3 a una reuni\u00f3n del Comit\u00e9 de Emergencia con la finalidad de hacer una evaluaci\u00f3n que se plantea de ahora en mas y fijar los pasos a seguir si las aguas siguen creciendo. Se estableci\u00f3 donde ser\u00e1 el centro de evacuaci\u00f3n ser\u00e1 en el Club Carlos Gallini en caso que haya evacuados y el centro de operaciones ser\u00e1 en el Cuartel de Bomberos Voluntarios. Al t\u00e9rmino de la misma, el intendente municipal Augusto Suaid formul\u00f3 declaraciones a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.digitalsantotometv.com.ar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http:\/\/www.digitalsantotometv.com.ar&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1750609829746000&amp;usg=AOvVaw1Db_pONXOeUze5nXnCgfyC\">www.digitalsantotometv.com.ar<\/a> donde brind\u00f3 precisiones no solo de la crecida del rio, sino tambi\u00e9n de los m\u00e1s 400 mm de agua que cayeron en Santo Tom\u00e9 en los \u00faltimos d\u00edas casi de manera continua.
