El proyecto busca duplicar la capacidad de carga de este tren y la modernizaci\u00f3n de la infraestructura de la regi\u00f3n Mesopot\u00e1mica, entre los r\u00edos Paran\u00e1 y Uruguay.<\/p>\n<p>La transferencia del Fondo para la Convergencia Estructural del MERCOSUR (FOCEM) se realiz\u00f3 el 21 de noviembre del 2025, a\u00fan como parte del primer desembolso del proyecto.<\/p>\n<p>En total, el FOCEM financia US$ 29,8 millones para la recuperaci\u00f3n de 210 km de esas v\u00edas f\u00e9rreas y la renovaci\u00f3n de dos puentes en tres sectores distintos de la L\u00ednea Urquiza.<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s de fortalecer el sistema argentino de ferrocarriles, las acciones ampl\u00edan la seguridad del transporte, la competitividad de la producci\u00f3n y las posibilidades de comercio intrarregional y con el mundo. Dichas intervenciones son fundamentales para la interconexi\u00f3n con los pasos internacionales de Paso de los Libres con Uruguaiana (Brasil), Garup\u00e1 con Encarnaci\u00f3n (Paraguay) y Concordia con Salto (Uruguay).<\/p>\n<p>Los emprendimientos, ejecutados por Trenes Argentinos Cargas, legalmente Belgrano Cargas y Log\u00edstica, tambi\u00e9n cuentan con otros US$ 14,6 millones que son aportados como contrapartida local.<\/p>\n<p>La expectativa es que el proyecto financiado por el FOCEM duplique la capacidad de carga del ferrocarril Urquiza y contribuya con la modernizaci\u00f3n de la infraestructura de la regi\u00f3n Mesopot\u00e1mica, entre los r\u00edos Paran\u00e1 y Uruguay. La L\u00ednea Urquiza recorre nada menos que 1000 km, conectando las provincias de Misiones, Corrientes y Entre R\u00edos con la capital del pa\u00eds, Ciudad de Buenos Aires.<\/p>\n<p>El Coordinador Ejecutivo de la Unidad T\u00e9cnica FOCEM (UTF), Luciano Wexell Severo, resalt\u00f3 que \u201cel proyecto de L\u00ednea Urquiza tiene mucha proyecci\u00f3n, por todo lo que representa para Argentina y por su potencial de integraci\u00f3n ferroviaria con los pa\u00edses vecinos y con la econom\u00eda mundial.
